◆About "Ten"
Ten was created as the first project in our pursuit of a new standard for Japanese flat table ware that will be loved for the next 100 years.
Building on the legacy of Gekkeiju (Laurel), a classic series cherished for over a century, Ten reinterprets Japanese beauty through modern craftsmanship.
Inspired by kimono patterns, traditional Japanese painting techniques, and the quiet elegance of Japanese architecture, Ten expresses the spirit of wa (Japanese harmony) in a form suitable for daily use.
This three-piece dessert set distills the philosophy of Ten into a compact trio designed for everyday moments of enjoyment.
◆Design Features
1. Handle Design That Evokes Japanese Landscapes
The handle design combines Edo Komon kimono patterns—specifically Daishō Arare—with the soft gradation technique (kumadori, a soft shading technique) found in traditional Japanese painting. The result is a tactile surface that subtly recalls the snowy landscapes of Japan's Echigo region.
2. One-of-a-Kind Hand-Finished Surface
In addition to polishing and grinding, Ten employs an industry-first finishing method known as "peeling polishing."
This process reveals traces of the artisan's hand movements as patterns on the surface.
Because every piece is finished entirely by hand, no two pieces are exactly alike.
3. Beauty Designed to Last Finished with ion plating for superior durability, Ten resists discoloration and wear. It is dishwasher safe and highly resistant to scratches, ensuring its refined appearance endures through everyday use.
